Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Red Carpet Ready Club, Happy Birthday to you.
That’s right! One year ago, My exclusive Red Carpet Ready Club opened it’s doors and my what a year it has been!
We’re working on tallying up the total amount of pounds lost by the members, but it’s hundreds and hundreds!! I’m so proud of all of my girls.
Stephanie got her pre-baby body back!
Cody and Mary Bess became stars on Red Carpet Ready TV
Suzanne H. looked fabulous for her wedding
Danielly became a real Action Hero Babe!
Leeanne got the most amazing body after years of struggling
Michelle learned that working out doesn’t have to be painful!
…there are dozens more! Hopefully they’ll chime in in the comments below!
We’ve gone through a few super private coaching groups where the girls made the most amazing progress, done dozens of incredibly motivating LIVE video chats with each other, made our own TV show, and released some of my most favorite workouts ever in I Want My Bikini Body!
Here’s what a few of the girls from the Red Carpet Ready Club have to say:
Lauren: Something I’ve learned very recently . . . Don’t be afraid to try new foods, even if you think nothing could be better than your go-to items. You may find that a healthy, RCR-friendly meal is your new favorite!
Stephanie: Carbs are your friend, but they have to be the right kind (fruits, veggies, whole grains, not processed). Please don’t avoid them, you need the fuel (almost passing out in a workout with Val taught me that).
Michelle: Consider the process – you’re not going to be perfect ever – and just because you “blow it” with something at noon, doesn’t mean you have to blow it all day, so don’t be all or nothing in your thinking- like if you eat 3 cookies, you might as well eat 50, – don’t do that!
Leeanne: Consistency is the key to success!
Mary Bess: Aim for 8 hours of sleep each night…..your body functions better to lose weight if it’s not stressed and the perfect way for less stress is to get your sleep in!! Truly!
I’d love to hear your tips too! Please share them in the comments below! I’m off to Las Vegas to see James Ray speak…talk to you in a couple of days!
-Love & Lunges,
Val

Plan, Plan, Plan (your food & workouts)!… It seems like a hassle at first, but then it becomes second nature. Your body will thank you later!
I didn’t say in my post in the RCR forums but here’s what I learned from being in the club as well as from Valerie – is the importance of consistency. This is a process that has ups and downs. As long as you stay focused and clarify your goals regularly, you will reach them. Setting intentions has given me the willpower and commitment I never had before joining the Red Carpet Ready program.
The other thing I’ve learned the hard way is: Drink Water! Stay Hydrated! The amount of water I drink is always linked to my energy level, my fluid retention and the ups & downs of my mood.
Thanks Val – your efforts and programs are appreciated more than you can imagine!
Thanks to Val and RCR clubber I learnt to:
1. plan, plan, plan my workouts and my food (like Danielly says, she is the Queen of planning and I learnt a lot from her as well);
2. eat and cook clean;
3. fit my workouts and cardio into a busy life looking after a toddler and working part-time;
4. make yummy green smothies and to love eating lots of green veggies every day; and
5. I learnt that I really am “only one workout away from a good mood”!
Thanks Val, you ROCK!
Happy Birthday RCR.

As the RCR girls stated and Val drummed into my head, plan, plan plan and consistency is the key to everything.
As long as I not only planned and pre-made my food ahead of time but I also pre-planned what I would eat if something happened and I was without my food at another location because of my job, I already had a plan as to what I would eat according to what was around me. Val actually had pointed it out to me that she noticed when I didn’t plan and pre-make my food was when I would screw up. I don’t anymore.
Guess what though, when I did or do screw up, I learned not to beat myself up about it and go on (that’s where the consistency comes in) otherwise I would never get anywhere.
One question I always, always ask myself when I am either not in the mood to workout or when I am about to eat something that is a no-no, “Is this going to take me 1 step closer to my goal or 1 step back?”. When the answer is back, I stop myself and get back on track. I find this question really keeps me from making a lot of mistakes in any goal I have whether it’s fitness or others. I think and visualize where I want to be, how I want to look and feel 1 year from the present day and it really keeps me going in the tough times. Believe me, I know as I am constantly bombarded and surrounded by temptations and major no-no foods but I stick to my guns!
I hope this helps someone! You rock VAL!!! Keep surfing!!
Tip 1 – Just say no to bread -Bread makes me puffy and bloated….
Tip 2 – Truly enjoy your food – sit down and take your time when eating and become a great cook
Val these are some good tips from all of your students. As someone who aspires to train women I am aware of that woman battle more circumstances then men do when it comes to weight loss. Keep bringing the good info and the exercises…Dee
I have bad knees so anything similar to squats are out. Any suggestions?
