Val, You are awesome! I love planks, but you’re right…they are a bit of a bore. I’m going to give them a whirl and tell all of my friends.

    Thanks, thanks, thanks!

    LOVED this video Val!

    Ceased sit-ups/crunches in Feb 2010.
I adore plank variations, band resisted, & unilateral exercises for the CORE.
    But…
the VALSLIDE variations of the plank are by far the most FUN!
Windsheild wipers are on todays menu - Yay!

    You’re Awesome!

Val, you make the exercises look easy. Looking is one thing and doing them is another ;)
I thought they were “Brooke Shield wipers” until I read it more slowly and saw it was Broken Windshield wipers. LOL.
Hope you, Cody & Lexi are fine!
Look forward to more exercise videos/tips from you! Have a great day!

Love it, Val! I bring my Valslides into workouts with my more experienced clients (because they can handle it!) I LOVE the last idea about using a BOSU or one leg up. Nice.

I would love to see these exercises, each time the video stops right before you begin to show them. Will you post pictures and written instructions soon?

The broken windshield wiper–whoa–I’m trying that one today. Think it might work on the outiside glute/hip area too.

  13. Valerie said on November 7th, 2009 at 10:29 am

Mary, You will love the “Broken Windshield Wiper”! It does get some glute/hip action as well as the abs. Sometimes I do it where I don’t pull the knee in but alternate swinging one leg way out to the side and then the other.

Hi Jodie! I will talk to Ryan about getting some pics up. Not sure why it’s not playing for you. It’s working on my computer. It is good to have the pics though so you can take it to the gym.

Jodi, Luci, Michelle, John and Jess, Thank you so much!! You and your clients will love these exercises. The fun keeps on coming.

Mandy and Marilyn, Let me know what you think after you try these. So fun! he he he.

Nikki and LeeAnne, You two make me so proud. I get to see my programs manifest through you. Your results keep getting better week by week. I’m sure everyone already wants to know your secret. Of course you say, VALSLIDE!

Joanna, these exercises will be sure to “spice” up your fitness program! I just signed up for your newsletter. Really enjoying your blog.

Esperanza, Congratulations on the pregnancy! Sadly no Valslide ab exercises for a while but you can still do Valslide reverse lunge!!

I absolutely love the Belly Robbers with my feet on a Bosu! I have been doing Mountain Climbers but the additional move for the B.W.W. helps to work on my hip extension as well. My new favorite move! Love, love, love em

It took me awhile to fully appreciate belly robbers, but I got so much stronger through my core by doing them! Also, just tried the broken windshield wiper and …uh wow!

Val - I’m really loving the Action Hero Babe workouts. Everyone, not just my husband, everyone is commenting on my arms, my overall figure…it’s great to see these changes and that I’ve been able to be so consistent with the entire training system. It works…that’s what keeps me motivated!
