“Count your blessings, not your crosses,
Count your gains, not your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes,
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your health, not your wealth.” –Old Proverb

With all the worry and anxiety this time of year can bring, it is important to remember what it’s really all about. Thanksgiving is a day to stop and reflect on all the things we have to be grateful for, and well … give thanks.

So, I would like to thank YOU, my dear clients, readers of my blog and the members of the Red Carpet Ready Club. This has been a tremendous year of growth for me, with the release of my first DVD set, Action Hero Babe Training System and the continued push to help people get fit, through my membership site, my blog, Twitter, Facebook and more recently, Red Carpet Ready TV.

Thank you to all who post nice comments on my blog and/or send me your stories and testimonials. These truly keep me going. I have been inspired by so many of you who have worked hard to get in shape and then have been willing to share how, with others.

Together we are making a difference. Together we will teach others that living Red Carpet Ready does not mean living deprived. It does not mean you “have to” workout. Living Red Carpet Ready means you learn to plan, prep and prepare, and it becomes second nature. Living Red Carpet Ready means you “get to” workout and you look forward to it as your “me time”.

I am deeply thankful for my health and body (even as I continue to work to improve it).

I am thankful for my family and the newest family member that my sister Wendy will soon deliver into this world.

I am completely blessed to have Nikki Razavi, my amazing, super chill assistant, to keep things running here. Cody & Lexi love her so much. The office doesn’t run without her!

I am thankful for Ryan Orrico, not only for his help with the website and launches, but mostly for encouraging me to be more accessible and reach more people through an on-line presence. This has totally changed my world!

I am thankful to call many of the leaders of the fitness industry my friends and I’m constantly humbled and inspired by them. Most notably, Mike Boyle, Alwyn and Rachel Cosgrove, Mark Verstegen, Anthony Slater and Robert Dos Remedios.

I am deeply thankful for Cody and Lexi, the two best dogs in the world!!

dogs

Have a wonderful holiday and remember to give thanks!!

It means finally being HAPPY again. I don’t want my kids to ever be embarrassed by me because I’m fat. I want to be healthy, strong and confident in my own skin. Learn to know my body. Find out what works for me and what doesn’t. Having the willpower to do this.

    Val,
I just recently bought a set of val slides to tryout myself and a couple of clients that I do train with. I work with young athletes mainly in the speed/agility and conditioning area of the business. Your product is great to help them strengthen their core muscles and all muscles to be perfectly honest in a great breathtaking workout and still allowing me to work with them on other parts of speed/agility training.with this product. Thanks again.

Red Carpet Ready and Action Hero Babe have made me stronger and more confident! Doing Val’s workouts have made me so much more in touch with myself and what it takes to be fit both physically and mentally. I am so glad I found Val! Whenever I reach for something I don’t need and don’t really want it is Val’s voice I hear in my head!

It would mean the world to me to get my self back in shape!! I am 56 years old, divorced, work for the post office and things are pretty stressful. I used to be in great shape until I hit my 40′s. Now, I am 40 pound overweight and can’t seem to get my self back to were I should be. I was an exercise instructor in my late 20′s, early 30′s so I know how important exercise is but I don’t seem to have the motivation. Your emails have been an inspiration and I appreciate the opportunity to be receiving them! Now I need SOMETHING that will work for me!!!!!!!!!

Val–that’s an easy one for me. RCR has become an acronym for the way I’ve been living my life the past year and will continue to. It has been an evolution for me both in terms of my nutrition , my workouts and my mindset. I’ve learned that preparation is the first ingredient for success in having a game plan and also having a plan “B” and a plan “C” if necessary. Following that the mindset is the foundation of everything. If you don’t change your thinking about your nutrition and exercise the rest is meaningless. Convincing myself to embrace a few RCR elements at a time until they became habits has been the method that has worked for me. It’s also about learning to be creative with the wonderful tastes, textures and nutrients present in clean foods and learning to use condiments and natural sweeteners like agave as enhancers in small quantities. Then the real icing on the RCR cake are the abundance of highly effective and efficient workouts. There really is something for everyone in the vast array of options you provide us on a continual basis. Even real challenges like love handles and inner thighs are met with the Valslides, Valbands and amazing combinations of moves that can be done with them practically anywhere in the world. Even though I had many personal obstacles in my way when I began RCR I think the psychology behind it , the ease of fitting it into a nearly impossible schedule, and the unwavering support that you, Ry, Nikki and our wonderful RCR family on the forum has provided me with the tools to turn a bleak beginning into my best year ever. Thanks for giving all of us a gift that makes us capable of giving so much back to others because we are confident, strong and always RCR to do so.

In the past I have tried you action hero workouts that I got online and I must say I found them really tough but it got me in the best shape of my life. Unfortunately, I am going through many changes in my life at the moment that although are all positive have put me on a self defeating path that I just cant seem to get out of. I have raised an amazing son on my own for the past 18 years, I am proud to say that he is strong and independant and is doing very well on his own in a new city attending 1st year university. For me this change has meant selling my house, moving to a small apartment, and being alone for the first time in 18 years. I have not had the energy to go to the gym, nor do your workouts since my move. Each day I am not only weaker in body, but in spirit, I am feeling very out of shape and rather depressed. I would love to kick myself back into shape with your new workout so that my son can come home to a mother who is stronger physically and mentally rather than one who is out of shape and depressed.

Finding Val has changed my life in so many ways! My training has never been better,my endurance levels are through the roof with the circuit style workouts, my body has gone through changes I never thought were possible! Val has taught me that I don’t have to lift crazy amounts of weight to be a fit female!~ I love the Valslides I can bring them with me everywhere I go so I never have to worry about missing a workout!
Most importantly the Red Carpet Ready program has made me love… well me again! I am so much more positive in the way I see myself than I ever was before, and that is thanks to Val & what she teaches me & of course the amazing women in the club!
I am so thankful for you all!

I am hoping to become a stronger person, who is confident and believe that I am a good person. When people say nice things, I will actually remember them in stead of just thinking they are being nice trying to make me feel better. I am actually a good teacher who helps children with special needs.

The journey to becoming an Action Hero Babe and finally achieving a toned and stronger body will mean everything to me. It means that I can finally look in the mirror and not only say that I am a special person, but really mean what I’m saying. It means that I know I can maintain this new stronger, healthier body for a lifetime and grow old with my husband and enjoy the things in life that I would miss out on with a weaker, unhealthy body and lack of self-confidence.

I want to be an inspiration to others that I work with and am friends with, when they see the new stronger, more confident me. I want them to want what I have and be interested to get in shape too and take control of their health.

    Val,

I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of the AHB workout program. I’m a very busy grad student working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Being an AHB would enable me to be a better, stronger and healthier student as well as therapist for my patients!!! Can’t wait to keep you updated on my progress!

I first was introduced to you, Val, through your red carpet ready program, then I purchased the Val Slide DVD and finally got on board with the Action Hero Babe DVDs. I think I can speak for all us who are linked into this fitness and health community that your emails of encouragement and support really keep us going and acts as a ‘virtual’ lifeline to keep us afloat and moving in the right direction. And it’s not just the fact that through your coaching, ustream chats, website workouts and all the info posted on your blogs etc. that has allowed me to drop 2 pant sizes and obtain less fat and more leaner and longer muscles but it’s your great accessibility. I don’t know how many times I have emailed you and asked you questions and you have personally and patiently answered me or directed me to who could. But the fact that a top celebrity trainer like yourself would give all of us in this community your selfless accessibility. Most trainers of your renown and celebrity wouldn’t give the average ‘joe’ the time of day unless we were top stars with lots of bucks and could buy your time. So your uniqueness is that you have retained your genuineness, your love of what you do and we have been the benefiicary of it all! You also have attracted great people who are part of your team, such as Ryan and Nikki and let’s not forget Cody and Lexi – your two furry friends. Thank you for your love, support and humanity!

Amy, you are doing so great already. Of course your kids are going to be proud. Just stay the course. Plan, prep, prepare. Be grateful for all the wonderful things your body can do now. My workouts are not easy, so if you can finish, be grateful for that.

Kevin, Your clients are going to love/hate the Valslide and all the amazing things you teach them to do with them. Of course they will only LOVE the results!

Krista, thank you so much for letting me be the voice in your head!!

    Val,
I’m going to keep this short and sweet. If I had to choose what I am most thankful for, it is for your program. The program gave me my body back, my confidence back, my energy back, my motivation back and most of all, it gave me ME back. I believe I can accomplish any challenge, because I have. My food “anxiety” is gone. I can choose healthy choices 90% of the time, indulge 10% without guilt and get right back to kicking butt. I can’t thank you enough for all you have helped me achieve. Your “presence” in my workouts and my life has gotten me to where I am now. Thank you a million times over.

Dear dear Roberta! You can do it. I think you know what to do but I will remind you if necessary. You feel better when you eat right and exercise. Start watching RedCarpetReady.tv . It is hosted on this blog right now and there are only a few episodes to catch up, so start at the beginning. I am here to help you through the holidays.

Oh Dawn! What can I say? You inspire me too. You have been such a shining light in the RCR club. I appreciate you and your support, more than you can know.
I also love that Jim supports you and the club so much. I treasure the pictures he’s taken of our wonderful group! Hugs! Val

When I was younger didn’t like myself and I ate and ate and didn’t exercise. I have finally realized that I am worth so more! I went from 190 to 160 and have been hanging around this spot for almost 2 years. It’s about time I started treating my body with respect and make it the best it can be! Happy Thanksgiving!

Finishing my year in shape has been my life-long goal since the stresses of school hit. There’s more time spent in the library or in my room than outside. I miss not being able to stride in a two-piece confidently during all those summers on the beach. I miss not having to wear board shorts to cover my bottom, scared and self-conscience that my bottom is just too big for display. I miss not being able to play the sports I used to be so strong in. Lastly, I miss feeling confident when a picture of me is taken on the beach. If I could finish this year stronger and better in shape, I think I would empowered to do the many things I’ve always wanted to try: rock climbing, soccer, and track. I would stand up and take that picture at the beach with my friends knowing I can rock my body, instead of hiding behind the many people so only my face shows.

Lovely Val – I can’t tell you how inspired I am by your Action Hero Babe Workout. I’m finally sticking to something and loving it – a miracle!

Your presence in my living room is my motivation and your encouraging and sweet personality are soothing while you kick my butt! I have put on 30lbs in the past year due to depression and it’s made me feel even more miserable. It’s been like a vicious circle – the more weight I’d put on, the harder it was to feel happy. My clothes no longer fit, and I felt embarrassed to go out. Suddenly, thanks to you, I have learned how to eat properly for the first time in my 38 years and I’m actually feeling happy because of it and your workouts!

I am so excited to see how my body will transform that I’ve taken your advice and taken photos. It wasn’t easy to do, but wow – what a reality check! It’s made me look at myself honestly and really evaluate where I am. I had a good cry, because I realized that I was looking worse than I’d thought. But you were right – it really helps to see yourself and now I’m inspired to look better for each week’s photo!

I’d also like to know that at 38, it’s possible to get in the best shape of my life. I’ve been a slim girl most of my life, my average weight around 120 lbs. Even though I’d been a model, I’ve never truly felt comfortable with my body and never had the tiny toned figure that your action hero babe workout strives for, and what I’ve always wanted.

As I’ve been doing the AHB workouts, I’ve already been thinking about what I’ll do after the 2 months is up. I’ve never felt that way – you have taught me that there’s no such thing as maintenance – and wow, how great if feels to know that I am improving myself every day, for the rest of my life. A few glasses of wine every night used to be my way to a good mood (which inevitably ended up in a lousy mood the next day). I’ve since learned that you’re right – I’m always one workout away from a good mood. Thanks, Val!! And thanks to all the fabulous girls in the forums.

Achieving and maintaining my RCR body means to me that I am confident in who I am. When I am following the principals behind RCR, I know that I feel and look the best I can be. It allows me to carry myself a little differently, with a little pep in my step and sparkle in my eye. It also helps me to venture out to try new things and meet new people because I know I am at my best. I find myself being less critical of who I am and less likely to compare myself to beautiful, fit women who usually make me feel self-conscious. When I feel and look my best (thanks to RCR) it truly makes me feel thankful for the body I have and the life that I live.

  25. StephM said on November 25th, 2009 at 9:57 pm

So much has changed over the course of this year, both internally and externally. Thanks to Val’s amazing workouts, inspiring coaching and delicious nutrition plan, I have more energy to play with my little guy, a brighter outlook in life and my hips have found their sway again! [Before meeting Val, I thought “sexy mama” was an oxymoron...Not anymore!] ;)

The most important thing I realized is that being RCR isn’t a one night thing. It’s a way of life. An RCR girl owns the length of that Target parking lot like it’s the hottest red carpet in town, baby! One of the most memorable moments of the year happened in September as I was making my way through the airport. I walked by two young, very attractive pilots and one of them actually spun his head around as I passed, made a “mmm-mmmm!” noise and asked the other guy “Hey, did you see her!?!” Now, some women might be offended by it, but when you haven’t had a response like that in several years, it is more than welcome! ;) Talk about feeling like a star!

Aside from the thrill of fitting into smaller jeans, what I appreciate most is that Val keeps her programs fresh and exciting, so I never get bored. While following her new AHB program, I love knowing that with each workout I am becoming stronger and more disciplined. This program will challenge you but the rewards are amazing. (I lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks of AHB)

It’s tempting to gush on and on about how awesome Val and her programs are, but you already know that or else you wouldn’t be reading this page. I’ll wrap this up by saying that I’ve never regretted doing one of Val’s workouts…The only regrets I’ve had were from the workouts I skipped.

Now that you’ve read this, grab a bottle of water, a pair of Valslides and start pursuing your goals for a healthy new year!

    Love, Steph
    (aka “Action Hero Mama”)

  26. Karen Magill said on November 25th, 2009 at 10:16 pm

Becoming RCR means that I may have better control over my MS. I know I can’t cure it but for the first time in nine and a half years I will hopefully be able to do more and not be so tired all the time.

Hi! In the spirit of thanksgiving, I am TRULY grateful to you Val for organizing and creating the Action hero babe system, and giving people access to it all over the globe..I have been doing the workouts and following the schedule for almost 2 weeks now, and can see the results in my body. Not only that though, it has given me a new approach to life-a life that I feel proud of, because every day I get up, and I do my workout and fell vibrant and alive and ready to tackle whatever the day has in store! For me, being an ‘action hero babe in training’ means that I live right here right now, full of energy, above any worries of the world, and excited for each new day to begin! I know I am getting stronger and more agile each time I work out and I feel more alive!
Thank you for the opportunity to become a stronger, better me!!!

To feel that if you can have an action hero babe body in no time, then there is nothing in the world that can stop you. Since I get closer and closer to my dream body I have become more secure and set myself more challenging goals in my whole lifstyle, personal, profesional, etc.
Thank you Valerie, for this great fitness program that has changed so many women´s lives.

Val, using your product means being able to do things! I’ve had medical problems for the last few years and it’s been hard to exercise when everything hurts. Using the Valslides is easy and allows you to adjust the exercises to meet your fitness level. It’s surprising how the strength and stronger muscles seem to sneak up on me. I’ve slowly been able to do simple things (without pain) that I haven’t been able to do in a long time. It all starts with doing a little and slowly building up your strength. My next goal is to step it up and build on toning and losing the fat. It may take a while, but I know that each goal builds on prior successes. Thanks for the help and support.

Everyone can find time to be fit your way! It’s refreshing to have a woman’s perpsective on suitable exercises for women. Red Carpet Ready..I love that! A place to be seen, to show your confidence and your beauty and strenght in all it’s glory. Red Carpets are everywhere. They are rolled out on that first date with that special someone, when you breathlessly answer the door, knowing that you look your best because you took good care of yourself. Red Carpets are found in the isle of the local supermarket, when you just came from the gym and your cart is loaded up with veggies and fruits and all things good for you. You know you’re going home with little trophies of goodness, that make you a star, a winner! Red Carpets are at the PTA meeting, when you are that super mom that breezes in, relaxed in knowing that she will have “me” time when she gets home with a soak in a luscious bubble bath, no longer frazzled.by unmanaged stress. And then there is the best Red Carpet of all. The Magic Red Carpet. The one you roll out for yourself indefinitely on your journey through life, one little kick at at a time

Hi Val, I did the first round of Action Hero Babe and finally got to my goal weight and best shape for the 1st time in years early this year, then due to hormones and going through menopause I had a relapse and lost total motivation, the 2nd round of Action Hero Babe working with the DVD’s has finally gotten me over my lack lustre period and even though I’m not yet back to my goal weight, I’m consistently working out with you 3 times a week. Now if only I could do that with my cardio LOL. But seriously I am now back to consistently working out and even though things have been hectic at work and in my life in general it’s thanks to you and the RCR club that I’m staying on track once again and more importantly I have re-newed my love and enthusiasm for working out once again.
Love, love, love RCR club, workouts and of course you and your caring attitude to us all.

Val, I am so excited and can’t wait to be one of the lucky winners! I am always encouraged when I read your success stories. I have been Red Carpet Ready & an Action Hero Babe in my mind for years! In fact, it is who & what I see as the true me. However, my body hasn’t caught up to that mission/vision yet, BUT with your help, I know I can change my body for the better. I don’t have a fitness & health guru to help me, so I have been reading what I can from you and other experts but I need guidance on the proper exercise routine to do, etc so that I can follow the right plan in order to obtain better results. Ryan’s story has inspired me too. I believe YOU will be able to help me become a star!
Thank you & hugs to you, Cody & Lexi.

ps: it doesn’t matter if it is a red carpet, gold carpet or not, I AM ready.

What has getting Red Carpet Ready or becoming an AHB meant to you? or what could it mean to you if you finish this year stronger and in better shape than you started?

Grateful taht somehow the TV Epi short vids that you get to share, the RCR or becoming AHB has given me the opportunity to work out at home since often times getting into a gym is a luxury or a struggle to the budget. It educated me moves that I may do at home after my runs or even just right before I go to work or before my sleep (at any time of the day I can squeeze) which made me felt that somehow i do get to take good care of my body ( but it has never been enough ).

Hopeful that when I do get to win the Movie Star Fitness ( Valslides ), at least I won’t need to settle on using alternatives ( cloth, slippers or book as my “valslide” ) which means I’d be able to do the other moves correctly and more efficiently. Having to come out successful, stronger and in better shape would mean a huge thing as it will already allow me to hop into the career that would possibly take me places as there are weight, vital statistics requirements ( Flight Attendant or Airline Associate ) – at least, get the chance to try out before its even too late.

Who would’ve thought that such physique are truly what it takes to become one and its not just skills or attitude in terms of working efficiently?

I have followed workouts online and I’m very grateful for having them (and getting to know them) but there are just few that I couldn’t follow since there are equipments needed and often times when you’re at different places its not available or not feasible to have.

Your routines are pretty much flexible. It’s one of those which you can’t say ” i have never had time to work out” . Val is the type where you can keep her on your bag in an everyday basis which always makes you that everyday, those things should be used and Val is there wherever, whenever.

the routines are challenging – one set is already burning!

    Your moves

I am 42 years old, female and about 150# over my ideal weight. I have spoken with my doctor and I am healthy with no hypertension, no diabetes, no reason I can’t workout hard and finally get into great shape. I am a nurse and I spend my days caring for wounded American military members and their families and I see the struggles and triumphs they go through each and every day. Seeing them each day makes me feel guilty and ashamed to be “healthy” and so over fat due to my own laziness and not being able to afford a gym membership. The time is now for me to redesign my body and become a example of health and fitness to others around me. Being a nurse or medical professional who is fat is all too common and makes it hypocritical for me to teach others about lifestyle choices and strategies for getting into a state of optimum health. I want to be an example for my patients and my coworkers and to be able to workout at home will remove any excuses. To be guided to fitness at home by an expert would be a dream and would be the turning point to changing my life, my body and increase the good I can do for the wounded, their families and the healthcare environment surrounding them. Winning this program could be make 2010 the start of a new life for me and help me to live the life I am meant to live helping those who have sacrificed so much for me and this country. Thank you.

Val, so nice to hear your message and I, too, am eternally grateful for all my blessings everyday. I purchased the valslides not too long ago and have not been able to try them out yet since I am in the middle of my current workout plan (always changing it up). I am an experienced exerciser and I look forward to the next “rock my world” challenge – VALSLIDES! Stay tuned, I know I’m going to love and it will help me reach my next level, could it be ACTION HERO BABE? I think so!

Your programs are not complicated and can do almost anywhere……..that makes it a no excuse easy to use stay on track exercise program. It will help many people achieve their fitness goals.
I have been in the fitness world for a very long time and do love your programs as well. It keeps you challenged and motivated and works up a sweat in the process. It is a great addition to my fitness program….variety is the spice of life! Thanks!

    Hi Val,

I was always “lucky” not to have to watch my diet at all and stay slim with regular sports until my late twenties. And even then, it was only a couple of pounds which were hardly visible but I knew they were there and made me feel uncomfortable. Later, I got ill with various joint problems, stopped sports, I got lazy. I had no pressing reason to change anything – be it my diet, my sports, my attitude and respect for myself – as I had gotten used that that slightly uncomfortable feeling.

And then many things happened at once and I ended up being seriously ill: I wasn’t allowed to do anything that could cause stress on body or mind. For two months or so, I had lived on simple carbs and sugar to have the energy to make it through my last months of work. Of course, the pounds came, they built themselves a home and they even have a fence up to keep my willpower outside. I was on the minority side: me and my willpower against about twenty of them. I knew what to eat to get them move out and to get healthy again and guess what? I did it for a while, and as always, didn’t stick to it like I should have. An on-and-off-thing. I think I was just expecting and accepting that I would fail. Avoidance was so much easier than change. Now, almost a year on, I am well on my way to recovery and feel 1000 times better. To realise that I had to be thankful for my illness to find me and to let go of my old me was such a relief.

And of course now I want to look inside and out like the person I feel I am. I followed your blogs for quite a while but never made that step of actually committing to what you said. Guess, I just didn’t trust myself I would go through with it. I recently watched the last RCR TV season and seeing Cody and Mary Bess going through it was a major motivator for me. I belive that your constantly positive attitude and inspiring way to connect with us hit a nerve with me – finally. All of a sudden, my attitude changed and I got butterflies in my stomach because I was so looking forward to the changes I am about to experience. The Action Hero Babe kit will complete my general overhaul. I am so looking forward to see the changes in my body and in my attitude. I expect to come out of this experience knowing that I can trust myself, that I can go for what I want and that this is the way I want to live my life. And I want to keep those butterflies!

My goal is to get that last stubborn 10 or hopefully a little more off for good; and never go back to worrying about putting pounds on when biking season ends in the winter.
Be at peace with the body the Lord gave me.

    Hi Val,

Quck note to say thanks for changing it up for me. I was stuck in a rut of doing the same excercises over and over, that I just got bored and stoped…hence the 15 pounds I am now carrying around…lol I actually heard about Val Slide from watching the Ellen show when Jennifer Garner was on…it looked fantastic and I just had to have it!!! Unfortunately I’m not at the RCR stage just yet. I purchased the travel kit and am just starting with the basics right now. I love the regular emails and different exercises you send out to keep it interesting. I have to say my fav right now is from the Plan B workout…Forward Back March…my butt/thighs are screaming today, but I love it!!! I’m already feeling stronger and finding muscles I didn’t know existed!!

    Thanks again and happy holidays!!!

Hi Val – Wow, it’s great to read how much you have inspired so many people. And, I’m another! What has Action Hero Babe done for me? It’s made me realize the simple truth that if exercise is fun, I’ll do it! And if I do it, I see the most amazing changes in body, mind, and attitude. Your circuits have been a revelation in this way – they’ve made me love strength training again.

After almost 4 months of your circuits (2 months with the Valslide booklet and almost two months of AHB), I’m stronger, less stressed, and feel more confident about myself. I especially love the feeling of strength and balance in my body – no other strength regimen has left me feeling this great. And feeling better about myself has helped me eat clean and enjoy good food more. I’m down to the weight I was when I got married 17 years ago – and my husband thinks I look better now (he loves the muscles) ;) .

Thank you so much for giving me the joy of exercise again. I love working out with virtual-you! Happy, Happy Thanksgiving.

Having purchased your RCR program and your valslides…I have to say THANK YOU for giving my energy back to me. I still have around 20 lbs to go…but I feel like I’m on my way. I’m expecting my first grandbaby in April and I know that I’ll be needing all the energy and good health I can get!

Thank you so, so much! I can’t wait to try your new program!

  48. Rachel said on November 26th, 2009 at 8:20 am

Val, I have followed you and your training for a long time as I always thought your clients looked fabulous. Jennifer Garner was my inspiration, but I always thought “that was just for Hollywood”! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only bringing Hollywood to Australia, but a system that combats the sabateurs we put in our own way. I thank you for your personalized service that makes me feel like I matter as a client and I thank you for introducing me to a fabulous group of like-minded women whose support carries me though the roughvtimes and lifes hiccups and whose praise keep me focused. They are inspiring and I am so thankful to have found new friends through this experience. I love that I have finally found a program that is fun, doable no matter where you are, at home as a busy working mum, or on a combat exercise ;) My AHB journey will continue as this is quickly becoming a lifestyle. I love that I bounce out of bed to workout. My husband thanks you for me regaining my happiness and energy, and my little boy thanks you for mummy performing crocodile walks, but most of all what he is doesn’t know he’s learning and that is a healthy appreciation to exercise and good nutrition. In just a few short weeks Im confident to hit our summer beaches in a bikini and I know I’m strong enough to haul my pack tomorrow. I was in a fitness rut which you allowed me to break through and for that I’ll be forever grateful. Thanks Val!

Its taught me that “I am one work out away from a good mood” which is awesome for me and the people around me. On this Thanksgiving I am thankful that I have more confidence and I am able to workout and help inspire others and not stress out about eating that slice of pumpkin pie :)

What has getting Red Carpet Ready or becoming an AHB meant to you? or what could it mean to you if you finish this year stronger and in better shape than you started?

Well, I don’t have these two systems, [though I am hoping I have enough money next year to get 1 or the other or both!!]. But if I had – It would mean that I would have invested enough in my health to make a difference. That, though the aesthetics would be great [having a flat stomach, and a higher behind, and thighs that didn't rub against one another], it would mean that I finally decided to be healthy, and have how I feel INSIDE to match my OUTSIDE. I would be happier, more confident and healthy. That is what RCR/AHB would mean to me [if I had it].

Thanks Val for bringing various systems to help us achieve our goals of fitness and keep up the fantastic work.

It will mean help someone else in the same condition that you were…and give him hope!
Thank you very much Valerie 4 everything!!!

I love being an Action Hero Babe, and I never thought I could be! Having worked Valerie’s RCR program over the past year I have lost 15+ pounds and inches and have gone down 2-3 sizes! (I finally lost the pounds I’ve been struggling to lose and stressing to lose over the past 10 years!) I love how Valerie’s workouts are concise, effective and FUN! I can ‘get in, get it done, and get out without stress. And I now know how to eat properly and more healthily! Health and better fitness were two things I accomplished over the past year, the year I turned 40.

I’m so glad I found Valerie and RCR and Action Hero Babe! I feel fit and fabulous now at 41! RCR is a way of life now, I don’t think twice about it!

Having been in the RCR club since the beginning i have learnt so much about not only diet and fitness but also myself. Although i never struggled with weight issues over 3 years ago, i soon did when my Dad passed away. The first year after his death my relationship with food was see it and eat it. I managed to put on a stone (14 pounds) in weight. By the time of the RCR launch i was in desperate need of guidance and some tough love. I found this and so much more, i found myself. For most of my life i have been one of those people that would get on the scale at least twice a week torturing myself for a number (not a healthy one) to appear. I realised after gaining some weight how much time i had wasted worrying about it. Being RCR is a constant – it has helped me balance out my life and deal with day to day issues. Although i am sick right now and haven’t been able to work out because of this for over 2 months, i know that i will get back into the workouts – because i enjoy them. They are the one part of my sometimes hard or upsetting day where i can take control of my body. I know that i will continue to see the results i have already acheived and am happy that health and happiness isn’t a number anymore. Being 24, i feel that what Valerie has done for me is save my future health – i was a fussy eater when i was younger – not wanting to eat anything but fries, sausages etc….. But now i enjoy the food i eat and love the way i feel afterwards.

The huge difference in myself is the confidence factor – sometimes i may stray from the RCR way but i get back onto it and never wait till “Monday” to do it. I am getting married in August and just the other day i wondered why i wasn’t freaking out about my body – but now i realise that the reason for this is RCR and AHB and IWMBB and anything else Val brings out in between.
In conclusion i would just like to thank you Val, magazines make you believe that just a 2 day detox or climbing the stairs will get results but we know the truth now!!!!!

Being an Action Hero Babe means being empowered. Empowered in your own body. It means feeling as though you can accomplish anything because you are strong. I am on week three of my Action Hero Babe Program and I am already seeing incredible results. My waist is smaller and my muscles are firmer and most importantly I feel sexier.
I am a life long exerciser but have never been happy with my body. Action hero Babe is changing that fast because it is changing the shape of my body fast. It is a complete program that really produces results. I know that it is the combination of exercises, AHB commandments and the intentions that are finally allowing me to be empowered in my own body. That is truly the best gift of the season. Thank You.

I am a super busy mom and multi business owner. I am a chef by trade. Especially since I am surrounded by food all day long, I have tortured myself to stay thin through various ways of eating/fasting and lots of exercise. I have always worked out super hard, but then sabotaged myself and healthy habits by stuffing myself with starchy carbs and sweets at the end of a long day. Food has always been the answer whenever I am stressed, etc.

Your program is so simple and so easy for someone like me who is super flustered with work and family stuff a lot of the time. Prior to learning about your cooking style, I would have a super busy day, and be so sick of cooking for other people so I would want to order pizza when I got home. I felt like dinners had to be fancy gourmet every night or why bother. I was so relieved to hear you say that dinner did not have to be fancy, just clean and healthy. I love your recipes and Gavin’s. Seriously, it is so nice to have you guys in the driver seat, recommending healthy meals for me. They are so simple and tasty. My 2 year old daughter is eating them too.

I did a boot camp for several months prior to dedicating myself to AHB, and really saw little results. Month 1 of AHB has taken me down 2 inches in my hips and 2 inches in my waist. I cannot believe how much stronger I feel.

Today is Thanksgiving and I was so excited to share my AHB book with all the awesome recipes with my mom, who has always owned a gym and been a fitness guru to many. I am so proud of your system and your valslides especially. I showed my mom the triple threat and she loved doing them with me.

Cheers to you and thank you for changing my life in the past couple of months. I am really happy and cant wait to see what is next. I will send you my before and after pics at the end of month 2. Thanks Val!

It would mean ending a lifelong battle with a poor body image and giving me greater self confidence whether in jeans & t-shirt or my bathing suit (in which I rarely make a public appearance). Also, it would finally prove to me that there is actually something out there that works and can give me back some feeling of some control (even if illusory) over my body. And lastly, although genetic in my family, I’m hoping to get a slightly high cholesterol problem under control as I’ve never had this issue before.

    Hi, Val:

Finishing strong and healthy would mean the world to me. My self confidence would be through the roof. My daughters would be sooo proud of me. My grand children would have one HOT grandma. My dancing (bellydancing, bhangra, and Persian) would be kicking butt. I will be looking and feeling soo great for my performance this January 24 (which is in front of 700 people) and the following convention that we have booked! Most of all I will have the old me back and actually recognize the woman in the mirror again.

It also won’t hurt to be able to show off a hot body to a few of the younger bimbettes around here that along with someone that is supposed to be my support think I am too old for this. Hey I am 42. Give me a break. I am just starting to live.

Thanks again Val for all of your love and support without you guys and the RCR girls, I would’ve never gotten as far as I have.

Val has given us the tools, inspiration and encouragement to be the very best version of ourselves – not just for a few weeks or a special occasion, but for life. One small step leads to the next, and to the next – before you know it visible changes are happening, an improved body shape, toned muscles and increased strength. But that’s just the beginning ! Somehow the transformation extends to how you think and feel about yourself and the world around you. It’s easy to make better food choices and to stay focussed on your goals. Energy levels rocket and people around you notice and comment on how good you look.

Val being successful at this program has helped me in many other areas of my life. I have learned that by positively focussing on what I want, setting realistic and smart goals I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

I am extremely grateful to your down-to-earth, no nonsense and practical approach to fitness and good health, and I thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with all of us in the “real” world.

    With my sincerest best wishes,

Being and Action Hero Babe means facing fears and overcoming them! Fear of failure, fear that I can’t actually look how I want to look, fear of distancing my friends, fear of inconveniencing people… The support of the club and the wisdom of Val has helped me face my fears, become more confident, AND look and feel fabulous!!! Thanks Val and all the RCR-ers :D

RCR got me out of the doldrums of post partum depression. I was ready for a change and within 5 weeks I had a dramatic transformation (internally & externally). Becoming an Action Hero Babe is making me love myself again–I’m stronger, more confident and am still losing inches! In addition to all that, I’m better equipped to help my own students and inspire them too. I feel so blessed, but the truth is…I’m doing the hard work, making good choices now, and staying consistent. Thank you Val for the kickstart I desperately needed!

I have worked out on and off for years and have NEVER seen results so quickly as i did within the first few weeks of the AHB system. I need to thank Val for allowing me to finally committ myself consistanly to a healthy life style. Many think you need to spend hours in the gym to be fit but Vals programs prove that wrong. Your not killing yourself with hours on end of training and depriving urself of food groups. Eating right has always been the hardest thing for me and with her plan i can finally say i feel amazing, strong, healthy and leaner by the day. I appriciate all the blogs and encouragement that you give to ur clients. Not every celebrity trainer out there sends e-mails or writes blogs to their clients. I am at a very happy, confident place in my life thanks to you!

Getting the opportunity to get Red Carpet Ready or become an Action Hero Babe, if I could finish the year stronger than I started? That would mean looking at pictures from my upcoming wedding and being happy with my image for the first time in years. It would mean having a sense of pride at having lost weight and inches for the first time in my life NOT crippled by the eating disorder I’ve struggled with for years and have finally beaten – only to find myself clueless as to how to lose weight without my unhealthy habits as a crutch. The opportunity would mean finally breaking free of that disease; being free to live my life, happy and healthy, for the first time in 20 years.

I personally love to do the workouts as well, they make me sweat, they’re fun, and they get results. I literally notice a difference in the way my legs and butt look after just 2 weeks of using the Valslides… and after 2 weeks of not using them! Being an Action Hero Babe has meant a lot to me. I am a 25 years old and an Oncology nurse who is not in bad shape but has “let he self go”. I am so busy taking care of my husband, dog and patients I have not had time to take care of me…I don’t know how mom’s do it. I was a swimmer, gymnast, soccer player, but since I finished nursing school and got married I have not had a as much time to work out. I would occasionally spin and but I used my bad knee from my soccer injury as an excuse to allow my self to get out of shape. I am not over weight I have just lost all definition. I was done with it. I was feeling tired and crappy…no more. I only started 2 weeks ago but feel better each workout. I am starting to feel like me again. I can’t wait to see how I am after the 2 months. I don’t even care so much about getting a six pack but just feeling energetic and like me again. I love all the workouts. Thanks so much Val :) !!!

I’m a married law student with very little time and too much extra weight on me. I came across Red Carpet Ready last year and bought it right away – the quick workouts and no-nonsense but friendly instruction by Val really appealed to me. I LOVED it! The moves are so simple, but putting everything together the way Val tells you really makes for a hard and effective routine. I lost 20 pounds doing the Red Carpet Ready program and have been wanting to pick up Val’s newest ass-kicking creation to keep my weight loss going. To me, Red Carpet Ready means that there is a way to make progress with limited time, as long as I put in the effort with the time I have. Red Carpet Ready means that I don’t have any excuses because the thinking has been done for me – Red Carpet Ready means I can focus on the “doing” rather than the “preparing” or the “thinking.” And the best part is that Red Carpet Ready proves that with consistency and effort (but not insane amounts of time in the gym or eating foods I hate), I can get the results I’m looking for. I’ve been busy buying holiday gifts for others and trying not to spend too much on myself, so I’ve been re-doing Red Carpet Ready and using my Valslides with general strength routines to try and get as much Val into my workouts as possible! Thanks Val, your mad genius makes my workouts fun and challenging, and I’m actually seeing enough results to inspire me into believing that I can reach a bikini body by this summer. :)

Having been layed off this month its been very tuff to say the least but I am not using that as an excuse. I walk as much as the wheather will allow me to but it would be nice to have something else to supplement the walking. Winning the Valslides would mean a great deal to me and motivate me even more. Thanks Val for all you do!

Hi Val, Such amazing comments left by so many people, and they probably speak for all of us. I would love to be part of your program, and end the year off by losing bodyfat that I cannot get rid of, no matter what! If your program can really do that for me, I will introduce it to my clients so that they can benefit from it too. There are so many programs out there that promise to deliver, and I am still have not found it, even though I am an exercise instructor! I hope that I can prove that your program works!

    Dear Val,
being an Action Hero Babe means to me having my fittest body ever at 47 (which I didn’t achieve by running 11 full marathons)! It means really enjoying a good meal on a special occasion rather than overindulging every day. It means being able to wear the clothes I like rather than the ‘comfort’ option. It means every day I look forward to having fun workouts or ‘cardio sessions with attitude’. It has given me a ‘Can do’ attitude.
    Thank You!

    Val,
RCR has given me so many gifts over the past year that I can be truly thankful for. Most importantly, the gift of great health. Even on the days when I am tired or not really ‘feeling it’, completing one of your workouts reminds me how truly fortunate I am to be able to do it! I look at my body now with gratitude. I used to focus on the little stuff that I didn’t like about it but you and all the wonderful RCR ladies have taught me to focus on the positive. I carry that AHB attitude with me even outside the gym. I feel empowered!
The nutrition portion has finally clicked! I see how much better I feel when I am treating my body well and that’s something I intend to continue not only through the holidays but the rest of my days!
Thank you Val, Nikki and Ryan for all your hard work! It’s really, really appreciated!!!!!!

I hated working out but this was a challenge
and I wasn’t going to let it beat me. It was hard but it was possible.
At first I dreaded going to workout. The first week I could barely even sit down without it bring painful. I had places that I never even knew existed that were sore.
Then it got to be easy and yes surprisingly enough fun. I started looking forward to working out and if I missed I was sad. I got my prepregnancy body back but even better. Red carpet ready was my savior. I just had baby number 2 and am looking forward to the challenge again.

    I am truely a believer,
    Tiffany

Ending the year as an action hero babe means BEGINNING the new decade as an Action Hero Babe! (and that rocks!!) I want to enter the new decade stronger and actually having some definition – not just “being skinny”. It means feeling empowered and, as Val says, fierce!!! I have had an injury but am about to get started on these so I can begin 2010 strong and energetic!
    Thanks Val!!
We are thankful for you, Ryan and Nikki!! (and of course, Lexi and Cody!!)

Thanks and Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving to All!! Finding Val has made a huge difference to me in helping it all come together. I’ve learned it’s nto just about exercise but eating well, planning staying motivated, being accountable and having attainable goals. Thanks Val!

Becoming an Action Hero Babe has meant many things to me… Through Val’s program, I was able to focus on my health and wellness for the long-run and achieve excellent results. By following the program, I was able to sculpt my body into an Action Hero Babe faster than I thought possible… I became stronger, leaner, and healthier as an end result!! I also felt good knowing that I was taking charge of my health, and that I looked good while I was reaching that goal. I was even stunned to learn that I could break through a certain weightloss plateau… Consistency and dedication were key to my success, but the support of the RCR club also helped.

Anyhow, I want to thank Val for helping to inspire more confidence in myself… I proved to myself that when I set my mind to something, I can achieve it. That means a LOT to me, and that is the best feeling in the world… So whether it is a fitness goal or some other personal goal, it’s great to know that anything is possible!! :D

P.S. The RCR club is fantastic! I have met many women who have provided excellent motivation, held me accountable and even provided strategies for when I was facing a certain challenge. The knowledge I have learned in the club is priceless, and the feedback is excellent! Thanks Val and Ryan for making all of this possible. :)

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and this was after a year where my mom had a transplant. Stress has been a constant factor in my life but I am trying to look on the bright side. I finally have an answer to why I’ve been feeling so badly for so many years and my mom got a successful transplant. I am in the early stages of the Action Hero Program, and with my sister’s wedding in April, this is giving me the focus I need and a great group of people to support me in this effort. I am excited to hear more about this new program. I originally joined the RCR program and found that group to be a tremendous help.

Best of luck to all of you and congratulations to Val on the many wonderful things happening for her professional life this year.

Hi Val – I am so excited to see a fitness program ACTUALLY WORK!!! I’ve been doing AHB workout for 3 weeks now and people have already said they can see a difference in my legs and arms! Wow! That’s never happened before. I’m almost angry at all the wasted time, effort and energy I spent all those years at the gym and never seeing any real results. This is such a PERFECT work out system for me because after my second baby I can’t just rush off to the gym anytime I feel like it. I can do the work out in the comfort of my own home and on my own time. I’ve always needed a little motivation and group effort. I love the calendar idea – I LOVE crossing off my work outs. It’s such a feeling of accomplishment when I do. I also like the motivational homework we had to do to get inspired. Some of the quotes I found really do get me to the next set of intervals!

The last three years I’ve been on a weight loss/roller coaster. I lost 20 lbs before I had my first child, then gained 40 lbs during that pregnancy. I lost the 40 lbs but gained it all back during my second pregnancy. So my baby is now 4 months old and I’m still 20 lbs away.

This is such a fun work out program that I actually look forward to doing it and it motivates me to keep on track. The best motivation is hearing compliments from people. Everyone has been asking me what I’ve been doing to look so good – I show off the system at every chance I get. I’m so glad I watched the episode on Ellen that day or else I may never have found this program and still be felling miserable.

Thank you Valerie for allowing the normal woman in this world to have movie star bodies! Thanks for sharing your secrets. I’m so excited to complete this journey I’ve taken to getting to look and feel my best I possibly can in just a short while.

    Best Regards -

    Chenay Schroeder

I am a Former Marine but having gained 80 pounds with the birth of my son and Finding out I have a Wheat Allergy I am having a hard time getting my weight back under control. Having to eat Wheat Free has me gaining weight because the substitute foods are higher in calories. I still have 20 pounds to lose and I can’t give up on it now. My spirits are in it but my body isn’t showing any progress. I know I can keep up with a program but it is finding the one that will keep up with me is the hard part. I want my Marine Corps Body back. Lean, mean and tone.
:) you know what I’m talking about.

Finishing the year stronger than I started…would mean that I carry myself with more confidence and presence than I went into 2009 with. Finishing the year stronger would help cement the positive changes I’ve already made, and reaffirm that being healthier isn’t just a January 1st fling, but a lifestyle shift for the better.

Red Carpet Ready — and, most importantly, you, Val — has changed my entire outlook on my body and health. Several people have mentioned how much my confidence has improved since I joined the Red Carpet Ready Club and received the support of Val, Ryan, Nikki and all of the girls! I prance around and wear adorable clothes and high heels everyday. I’ve pushed all of my pants and heavy sweaters to the back of the closet. I love my body now! And I especially love the way I feel. I have more energy, more strength, and my body just *works* better. RCR-style eating combined with exercise make me feel more fit and healthy than ever. I also appreciate all of the tools that Red Carpet Ready offers. Even when I’m swamped with work and not sleeping or exercising enough, or the day after Thanksgiving (when I’ve had an extra piece of pie . . .), Valerie’s programs allow me to fall right back in line to meet my diet and exercise goals. (Setting intentions works every time!!) I *plan* to make big progress in December, and I look forward to working with Val in the future — significant changes every day, week, month!!
