As you can see, from this post, my Action Hero Babe program was just the ticket for many women to keep them going through the Holidays!

Val – I love these!! What perfect timing… this 5 day weekend I certainly was not on top on my game – but ready to recommit and move forward!! See you in the forum!
My personal assessment, many of the videos on this web site and now RCR TV have been huge motivators for those evenings when I just don’t want to work out!
i love you val i would like to look me at my jump rope sorry for my english because a french guy
Great tips, Val! I’m feeling like I need to give myself a major diet and training plan makeover. I just finished writing out my training and nutrition for the upcoming week and did food prep. Now it’s time to refresh the ipod!
I love this! I think I’m going to make a quote book. And the idea of making sure to have a plan on the days I don’t feel motivated is a brilliant one. You’re right-they’re the days I just kind of drift, then decide I’ll head home after a quick session. I’ll make sure I always have a selection of workouts in my bag now. No excuses!
You are so right about not wanting to do much when it is winter, it is so cold (esp in mornings) and it gets dark so early! You should release your quote book with your next workout! I would love to have them! I am going to check out the Lance book too, that looks really good. But the accountability is the biggest thing that has helped me in the past. Thanks Val!!
Your spiritual well being is just as important as your physical well being, so for motivation I read the bible. There’s lots of inspiration in it!
I think motivation is very important and all your tips are very helpful, thanks!
Excellent topic, Val! Different things motivate different people that’s for sure….I’ve never been a big quote person, and that’s okay! One thing that really sticks in my mind, I guess, as the one quote I do repeat….”Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”…and I suppose that relates more to the food we eat not necessarily our workouts….but a few things that keep me motivated to get my workout in every day are (1) having my printed workouts in a binder easily accessible in my home gym…I just turn the page to the workout I want to do (if it’s my circuit day) and I’m ready to go, (2) cute workout clothes….I purchased a couple of cute sport tops/shorts/capris that I feel good in and when I see myself in the mirror working out it just makes me feel better about how I look, and (3) my fav tunes in my iPod! Cool, jamming, fun tunes have kept me going endless times. If I don’t have my music I end up poking along. I’ve always been a music gal and having the iPod is crucial to me getting my workout in and completed in a timely, effective manner!
Today was my ‘rest’ day but after talking about my motivation I’m inclined to go get in a little bit of a workout just to get my body in motion!! See, having motivators DOES motivate!!
Thanks Val!

Thanks Val! You are absolutely correct! Having motivators around is the key to keep you going! I keep my motivators everywhere at home and at work and I always have my Ipod on me with not only music but speeches or audio books that I use to motivate me! Thanks a lot Val!
I just started reading ‘How Lance Does It’ a few days ago! I bought it and also ‘The Creative Habit’, thanks to you recommending it in an older post. Fabulous recommedations, Val! And this particular post is perfect timing, as my motivation is slowing due to being busy this week. You are awesome and very appreciated. Just when I start to feel down, you are there to lift my spirits. Thank you!
Hi Val –
I just wanted to share that I love the AHB workout system because that in itself motivates me. Because there are only so many days in the week and I have these specific workouts to do – I know I have to keep exactly on track in order to get them all in and see results. I like having the specific workout for each day for two reasons – I have a goal to complete and I like to mark it off on the calendar. That gives me such a great sense of accomplishment!
I also wanted to share a couple quotes that I found that help me get through a workout when I’m about to give up and don’t want to do the next interval set. I they were poignant quotes for this RCR topic you posted:
“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out” – Collier
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence , therefore, is not an act but a habit.” – Aristotle
LeeAnne, Alain and JoAnna – thank you so much!! You keep me going with the encouragement.
Krista, I am so happy your assessment helped motivate you. I really like doing them. It’s the closest thing I can offer to an in-person consultation.
Grainne- You should make a quote book! I love the one Jen Hardy made.
Missy- I think you will really like the Lance book.
Raquel- You are absolutely right about your spiritual well-being. We need to look after it.
Mary Bess- I am with you on the new workout clothes! I finally got some new workout shoes and it really inspired me in my workout today.
Thanks Marilyn! You are always leave such nice comments and that inspires me!!
Mila, let me know how you like the Lance book.
Chenay, I love that you are enjoying AHB! It makes me so happy to get comments like this!!
