Red Carpet Ready: Sexy Shoulders
10 Comments March 8, 2010 / Posted in Uncategorized
This year’s Oscars was not only a celebration of amazing movies and incredible performances, but it was clearly the year of the sexy shoulder.
The most popular style this year was clearly the strapless dress. In order to pull this off with confidence, you want to have seriously sexy shoulders. To achieve this, you want to follow my Red Carpet Ready diet and full body workouts - but then, we are going to polish the shoulders. This is where I add a circuit to hone in on a special body part.
If you want seriously sexy shoulders like the stars, then I’ve got a circuit for you!
Start with a warm-up of Y’s, T’s and Scarecrows (from the previous post) - do 10 reps of each and do the warm-up circuit 2x.
(A) Rear Delt Flye - 12 reps x 3 to 5 lbs
(B) W’s - 15 reps x 5-8 lbs
(C) Lateral Raise - 12 reps x 5 lbs
*Do this circuit 3x

For optimal results, follow the eating and exercise protocol in Red Carpet Ready
Give this mini-circuit a shot and let me know what you think! Not only is it great for Red Carpet Ready shoulders… but remember, Summer is coming which means TANK-TOP SEASON!
Have fun!

Thanks, Val! I’m definitely adding these to my exercise regimen!
You think of everything…..
I love this and was just thinking “shoulders” after last night. You always seem to know what an RCR girl is thinking!
xoxo!
I’m all for sexy shoulders…I have to say Sarah Jessica Parker should have taken home an Oscar for best shoulders last night!
Dawn, I was thinking the same thing! Thanks Val
Hey Valerie!!
Thanks so much for running with my suggestion!! The arms/shoulders are one area that is so visible year ’round…..gotta keep things looking good!!
Can’t wait to add these little exercises into my weekly routine!
Thanks again, Val, for all you do!!
xx MB
looks great Val! Thanks for sharing!
Love this! Very timely with summer coming up! Loved Cameron Diaz’s arms and shoulders last night! That’s my goal and these moves will help!!
Perfect timing for this circuit!!! Any chance of a tricep focused circuit? Sexy shoulders look even better WITHOUT bat wings
HAHA!!!
Hi Val — thanks so much for this! Just combined three rounds of the shoulder circuit with four rounds of the back circuit (and three sets of 20 Valslide Reverse Lunges for good measure) for a fantastic travel workout. Lots of walking and running has my lower body a bit sore, but my upper body loved the work!
Love, Lauren
P.S. A tricep-focused circuit would be *amazing*. I have a few ideas of what exercises it would contain, but I’d love your expertise regarding reps/weights/order.
