Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Do you have a Dad that likes to stay fit or needs help getting started? This Father’s Day, how about giving Dad a gift that will keep on giving – keeping him in shape and adding tons of new moves to his workouts? I have some great ideas that won’t break the bank!

1. The Valslide
This very simple but incredibly effective portable exercise tool is being embraced by weekend warriors and professional athletes, as well as some of the best coaches in the business.

Coaches like Mark Verstegen – owner of Athlete’s Performance and author of Core Performance Essentials and Core Performance Endurance (both featuring The Valslide) had this to say: “The Valslides’ power is in its utter simplicity in design and even more powerful in the form of results.”

Alwyn Cosgrove – owner of Results Fitness and author of New Rules of Lifting (with Lou Schular) says: “Having access to The Valslide has almost doubled the amount of lower body exercises in my training arsenal. Adding Valslide to your abdominal workouts raises the intensity level like you wouldn’t believe!”

Capable of working your entire body but particularly great for delivering abs of steel, The Valslide has been called the “Best Stability Trainer” by Men’s Health magazine, and “Genius Gear” by Women’s Health magazine.

Have your Dad or any other Dad you know try this Valslide circuit for total body conditioning:

2. If your Dad doesn’t have time to get to the gym, I recommend the Movie Star Fitness for Men DVD. This is a great workout to help any guy get on the road to fitness with easy to follow circuits. You will need The Valslide, a couple of Valband Deluxes and a few dumbbells.

3. The Men’s Health Big Book of Exercises
The Men’s Health Big Book of Exercises is an absolute must for everyone!
It has the most comprehensive collection of exercises ever created. It has lots of great workouts, whether you’re a beginner, advanced lifter, short on time or in a hurry for results. You will also find lots of useful tips and some serious diet strategies. All of this is put together in a beautifully photographed, artfully assembled and easy to use book – I strongly recommend it! The author is Men’s Health Fitness Editor and good friend of mine, Adam Campbell. If all that isn’t enough, it also includes some Valslide exercises and the cover model, Max Wettstein is also the fitness model in the new Valslide DVD, coming soon!

I hope everyone has a happy and fun Father’s Day – or just a great Sunday!

Oh and just a quick bonus gift for Dads n Grads ;-)

I would love to hear something great about your Dad. Maybe something you do together, something he taught you or what you admire about him. Share you comments below!

That YouTube video is hilarious Val. The scary thing is I remember going to classes at the gym dressed like that as a late teen! Can you scoop more about the upcoming ValSlide project? I have heard you hint about it, but not sure if it is just a new DVD to sell with the Valslides or a new mini-program. Keep em coming.

My dad was a clothing executive until he was deemed obsolete for the industry at 62 years of age. So he retired, moved from NYC to FL, and now has become a personal trainer for the past decade or so. He works out every day and looks pretty damn good. That inspires me to do the same….
